Izera Mountains from a different perspective
The Izera Mountains, the western neighbors of the Krkonošsko, delight with their landscape, but they also have a second – less known, underground face. The St. John's Mine in Krobica is one of those places that is difficult to compare to anything else. Here, history meets adventure, and the underground corridors tell the story of miners from hundreds of years ago. This is not a reconstruction or a set – this is a real mine with nearly 450 years of history of tin and cobalt extraction, embedded in the rocks, an authentic space and a unique atmosphere.
Today, available as an underground tourist route, it allows you to go deeper – literally and metaphorically – and makes a huge impression.
